Effects of Meditation on Memory
Meditation is always being studied by science and this time it was discovered that can help improves visual memory, suggests a new study.
For their research, scientists resorted to two types of Buddhist meditation, one in which participants focus on an image of the divine and the other participants at the rally should avoid any image distracting their attention during the process.
In a series of experiments, both types of meditation were performed by professionals who participated in the work and tested their visual memory (e.g., the ability to maintain an image in memory and then identifying among other images).
After completing its first round of tasks, professionals meditated for a period of 20 minutes, while the other control group, no lay meditate, and both groups completed a second round of tasks.
The study results showed that all participants’ meditates achieved similar results in the first round of tasks, but in the second round, practitioners focusing on an image had a marked difference in the performance of your memory, making it more efficient.
According to the authors of the study through these results determined that meditation can make a real promise for treatments for memory loss.
