As if not obese enough problems: this may have a problem if they need surgery. The anesthesiologist may block a transaction if there are large risks.

The American Society of Anaesthesiologists has launched a new campaign for potential surgery patients, with emphasis obese, aware that something can go wrong when they set sail over to surgery. Some obese who have surgery, even if it is a bariatric surgery, may suffer from sleep apnea can reduce respiratory symptoms and breathing hard.

Of course, the medical staff for the operation to control the breathing tubes, but there are special tools and / or techniques needed. Anesthesiologists should be prepared for this and sometimes some warn patients about the potential risks that may occur. In rare cases, patients who have extreme obesity and those already suffering from sleep apnea, should lose weight before they are allowed to get surgery, bariatric or otherwise.

As part of the campaign, the American Society of Anesthesiologists recommended to obese to undergo a comprehensive examination before they get a surgery where they go under general anesthesia.
