Acupuncture and Back Pain: Challenge to Conventional Medicine?
We recommended some natural tips to eliminate back pain to be able to get rid of them with your own hands. We continue in the same line today, this time to refer to an interesting study conducted in the U.S., which links to acupuncture with back pain.
And it does breaking schemes. Let the case. It is the study SPINE (Stimulating Points to Investigate the Effectiveness of Needles, SPINE in English), which worked with 638 adults who had never practiced acupuncture and back pain sufferers. They were divided into four groups, and all received conventional medical treatment.
However, when applying acupuncture were implemented three different modalities? While one group remained exclusively with conventional medicine, acupuncture was another individual, other than a standard treatment consisted of inserting needles into the back and posterior muscles of the legs, and finally other received sham acupuncture, which consisted of puncture with needles without insert into the skin.
After eight weeks, six months and one year the researchers conducted testing in the participants to review their progress. These showed that the three groups working with acupuncture felt a greater relief of back pain than conventional medicine group, demonstrating the effectiveness of this technique of traditional Chinese medicine to solve back problems. Acupuncture and Herbs
Treatment for infertility are often lengthy, stressful and too expensive. To overcome these problems and for answers “natural” to the problem, Korean researchers conducted a study in which a group of women with fertility problems have been treated with acupuncture, moxibustion (pictured) and herbs.
The 104 women recruited for the study, before participating in the project were selected based on various evaluation criteria that included the chronological age (the average age was 32 years with a range of between 26 and 41 years), how long he had been diagnosed with infertility and possible treatments for which they had already referred. The treatment with acupuncture, mix and herbs Koreans had to be completed after 6 menstrual cycles and complete between February 2005 and April 2006. Acupuncture – effective in relieving menstrual cramps

According to research, based on an analysis of 27 studies that included three thousand women, the age-old technique is effective because it acts by stimulating production of endorphins and serotonin in the central nervous system.
The endorphins, compounds produced by the body results in a feeling of wellbeing, while serotonin is a neurotransmitter in the brain.
Compared with drug therapy or traditional medicine, acupuncture was associated with a significant reduction in pain, wrote the authors, specialists in the Eastern Hospital of Kyung Hee University (South Korea).
