Is Cancer Hereditary?
When we speak of hereditary cancer specialists should be clarified that relate to the predisposition to disease in the event that the parent suffering from a particular type of tumor. But that does not mean that the person is sentenced to have the condition.
There are many types of cancer, and some of them are clearly linked to environmental factors in lung cancer and smoking, or skin cancer and excessive sun exposure. Others, however, are linked to hereditary issues. In the case of breast cancer, for example, the daughters of women who have suffered are more predisposed to suffer.
It should be noted that cancer is a broad group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells. While normal cells reproduce and grow in an orderly fashion with a purpose-as, for example, closing wounds, cancer cells grow without special reason. They multiply uncontrollably destroying normal tissues and can spread to different parts of the body.
